The Pavilion at Williamsburg Place Medical Director Receives 2013 Healthcare Hero Award
Williamsburg, VA (PRWEB) October 11, 2013 -- The Williamsburg Health Foundation has honored The Pavilion at Williamsburg Place Medical Director, Dr. Avtar Dhillon, for his work in advancing the healthcare field with the 2013 Healthcare Hero award. This year’s award theme was “Working Toward a Healthy Future” and highlighted his work in training sessions that has elevated the entire regional healthcare community. These sessions centered on safety-net healthcare clinicians, teaching them how to screen, assess and refer patients experiencing behavioral health issues. This approach aimed at treating the whole patient by integrating primary care with behavioral health treatment. Most importantly, this work has provided the region with access to advanced resources typically unavailable in other areas.
“Dr. Dhillon has been an integral part of the behavioral health system in our local area for the past 30 years and continues that legacy here on the Williamsburg Place campus,” stated Chris Ruble, Executive Director of The Pavilion at Williamsburg Place. “As the premier behavioral health hospital in Virginia, we know that it is only by placing a strong emphasis on the advancement of treatment that we provide the best care for our patients.”
