Central-California Tourism Agencies Win Award
Oakhurst, CA (PRWEB) October 11, 2013 -- A pair of Central-California tourism marketing agencies and the Fresno Yosemite International Airport were recently recognized for their creative marketing efforts by the Western Association of Convention and Visitors Bureaus.
Staff from the Yosemite Sierra Visitors Bureau and Visalia Convention and Visitors Bureau was on hand to receive the Best Idea award from the WACVB for the Majestic Mountain Loop. The Majestic Mountain Loop is a three-day itinerary featuring highlights of three of California’s, and the country’s most popular national parks, King’s Canyon, Sequoia and Yosemite.
“We were so excited to get this distinction. This shows what we can achieve when we work together as opposed to competing against each other,” said Rhonda Salisbury with the YSVB.
Salisbury along with Danika Heatherly, who at the time was with the Visalia CVB, came up with the cooperative project. Fresno Yosemite International Airport, the gateway airport for the three parks, joined the partnership at the beginning stages as well, creating what the group calls an effective and powerful marketing team.
“We're honored to be a recipient of this award. All of the hard work and planning is beginning to pay off, and we're excited to be sharing this project with visitors from around the world. The Majestic Mountain Loop is an experience unlike many others, and we're proud of its success,” said Brittany McMahon with the Visalia bureau.
The pair accepted their award at a convention in Universal City late last month, and was given the opportunity to share the Majestic Mountain Loop to a room full of industry professionals.
Other winners were the Albuquerque Convention and Visitors Bureau, Aspen Chamber Resort Association and Visit Mendocino.
