Social Analytics: A Seattle Interactive Conference Session by Page Sands, r2i VP of Social Marketing

It's easy to get distracted by vanity analytics with social media and at SIC marketers can learn about the core metrics that matter.

The Seattle Interactive Conference is the largest interactive, technology and creativity-focused event in the Pacific Northwest that brings together a schedule of keynote presentations, panels, workshops and master classes for brands, technologists, creative leaders and entrepreneurs. Page Sands, Vice President of Social Marketing for R2integrated, a digital marketing and technology agency, will be among the digital trendsetters sharing thought leadership with more than 3,000 attendees.

This year’s annual SIC is October 28-30 and will take place at the downtown Seattle Conference Center. Talk tracks are focused on Develop, Design and Digital topics and are intended to educate attendees about disruptive technologies, best practices and forward-thinking business models.

Page will be speaking on the ever-evolving topic of social analytics. His session, titled “Social Analytics: Why you need more than likes,” is scheduled for Wednesday, October 30 from 10:10-11:10 a.m. He will discuss how marketers can easily get distracted by the immediate gratification having a Twitter post re-tweeted or a Facebook photo shared. While these engagements are part of the base level of data provided by social channels they are not always the core metrics that matter. Page will share how to evaluate the metrics that have the most meaning and will reveal the insights that can be gleaned from them through new social listening and monitoring tools. He will discuss how marketers can understand how their campaigns are performing in both owned and un-owned properties so they can not only create content that people will like and share, but be better positioned to evaluate ROI.

The Social Analytics session is categorized in the Digital talk track and is a topic r2i often covers in speaking engagements. Page has been a featured speaker at Microsoft, digiday, Inbound Marketing Summit and the Puget Sound Business Journal.

SIC features over 120 speakers including such keynote speakers as Rand Fishkin, CEO of Moz; Roy Sekoff, Founding Editor of the Huffington Post; and Callie Schweitzer, Director of Digital Innovation for TIME Magazine.
