Blanca Aparicio of UAIC Receives Community Service Award from Broward County Crime Commission
Miami Gardens, FL (PRWEB) October 12, 2013 -- Blanca Aparicio of United Automobile Insurance Co. has been awarded the Tom Magill Community Service Award from the Broward County Crime Commission. Aparicio is manager of the company’s Special Investigative Unit (SIU).
The service award recognizes contributions to the community, such as giving to the Florida Disaster Fund, supporting law enforcement and the criminal justice system, and aiding children’s causes.
“It is an honor to be named a recipient,” said Aparicio, “Community support is integral to the business philosophy of United Auto and we are pleased to do our part to make South Florida a better place for its residents and members of law enforcement.”
The award is named for the late Tom Magill, former police chief of Hallandale Beach. He greatly helped children in his community, including designing the city’s first Police Athletic League.
Aparicio will receive the award at commission’s 34th annual criminal justice dinner on Oct. 24 in Deerfield Beach.
