Ringpfeil Advanced Dermatology is now offering psoriasis treatment with the Pharos EX-308 Excimer Laser. Pharos EX-308 Excimer Laser utilizers a XeCl source to deliver a narrow-band UVB light for the treatment of vitiligo, psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, and leukoderma. The Pharos Excimer Laser allows for the adjustment of the area of light delivered precisely to the affected area of skin, resulting in a very efficient delivery of energy.

Typically, remission of psoriasis is observed for up to 6 months after 12-20 treatments 2-3 times a week. According to RA medical systems, as few as 6 treatments are required before permanent repigmentation can be observed in some individuals with vitligo.

According to Dr. Franziska Ringpfeil, a board certified dermatologist, the laser treatment is safe and effective in removing skin plaques that may not respond to gels or creams, which could carry the risk of harmful side effects with long term use. She also states that the laser treats effectively the scalp, palms and soles and other skin area. However, she would not recommend the treatment to people who have the psoriasis spread over very large areas of their skin.

Ringpfeil Advanced Dermatology provides premium general dermatology, cosmetic dermatology, dermatological and laser surgery to the Philadelphia, Main Line, and Delaware Valley area.
