Toronto - October 2013 -
Organic Tomato - product of Canada…Organic Kiwi fruit- product of New Zealand…organic mango- product of Mexico…organic spinach and lettuce from China…but is it organic?
Mischa Popoff, B.A. (Hons.) U. of Sask. and IOIA Advanced Organic Inspector can tell you why it’s not at the Homegrown Expo 2012. Mischa says “The organic industry always claims the high ground when it comes to producing safe, nutritious and sustainable food. But studies consistently reveal shortcomings in the multibillion-dollar per-annum organic sector.”
He’ll be speaking and signing his critically acclaimed book titled Is It Organic? Mischa is concerned “As far as organic certifiers and urban activists are concerned, farmers, the environment and consumers are all mere afterthoughts. And, like it or not, you’re footing the bill.”
The Homegrown Expo will take place from 11am to 4pm October 20th at 26 Meteor Drive near Pearson Airport. Foodies, gardeners and anyone concerned about health will be informed through free all day seminars. Ask questions, attend demonstrations, browse through the working gardens and take away knowledge and complimentary products.
