Becker Animal Hospital & Pet Resort Collecting for Needy With Fall Clothing Drive
San Antonio, TX (PRWEB) October 11, 2013 -- Becker Animal Hospital and Pet Resort has launched its Fall Clothing Drive to help the needy of the San Antonio area. Beginning immediately and running through Halloween Day, Oct. 31, the public can drop off clothing for adults, children and infants in a special drop-off bin in the lobby of Becker Animal Hospital.
Donated items will be distributed to the Women’s and Children’s Center (also called the Women’s Shelter) and the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Antonio.
“As we move into the cooler season of the year, and the start of the holiday season, we especially reflect on those who are less fortunate,” said Dr. Michael Becker, DVM, senior veterinarian and owner of the practice. “We invite our clients and the community at large to bring in their donations to help these worthwhile causes.”
Year-round, Becker Animal Hospital and Pet Resort collects donations for four causes: The Women’s and Children’s Center, the Humane Society of San Antonio, the Wildlife Rescue & Rehabilitation Center, and the Elf Louise Christmas Gift Drive. Each has its own permanent collection bin in the BAH lobby.
Becker Animal Hospital and Pet Resort is a full-service, 24-hour, 7-day-a-week Veterinary Hospital equipped to handle emergency care, and surgical and medical cases, as well as routine vaccinations, general wellness care, pet resort boarding, Doggie Day care with an in-ground pool, and ancillary services.
Walk-ins are welcome, and no appointments are required.
Becker Animal Hospital has been providing veterinary services in San Antonio since 1986. Its newly constructed state-of-the-art facility opened in December 2009; at 22,000 square feet, the facility is one of the largest in Texas.
The hospital and boarding complex is located at a convenient central location on the westbound lane of IH-10, just inside Loop 410. The facility includes easy-access on-site parking and a covered entry drive for wet weather. There is a spacious lobby and seven exam rooms, so pets can be seen and evaluated as quickly as possible.
The Pet Boarding Resort offers 53 luxury dog boarding suites, 24 of which have a window view to the outdoors. There are a further 72 kennels, 30 of which have a doggy door that accesses an outside pen for fresh air and change of view. The resort also operates a Doggie Day Care program.
This year, the resort launched a new in-ground doggie pool – the first for a San Antonio boarding and day care facility.
Spacious Cat Condos also provide luxury accommodations with views to the outside, as well as a 300-gallon salt-water aquarium to entertain the guest cats.
