Sunny Maffett Signs on as Director of Operations at Southwest Skin and Cancer Institute
Prescott, Arizona (PRWEB) October 15, 2013 -- Robin Fleck, M.D. founder and medical director of Body Oasis Laser Aesthetics and Day Spa, Southwest Skin and Cancer Institute, and Vein Specialties is pleased to announce that Sunny Maffett has joined the staff in Prescott, Arizona as Director of Operations. Sunny has lived in the Prescott area most of her life, except while attending Baylor University in Waco, Texas. In 2004 she graduated from Baylor with a bachelor’s degree in biology, and in 2010 obtained her accounting certificate from Yavapai College. During her senior year at Baylor, she held a medical assisting job for a local podiatrist and her love for patient care and medicine grew from there. Sunny has now been in the medical field for 12 years and has been working in the Prescott area for 8 years. She brings with her two years’ experience with laser aesthetics, three years’ experience in varicose vein treatment, and three years’ experience in dermatology. Outside of work, Sunny is an avid slow pitch softball player, loves spending time with her husband, and enjoys the beautiful local hiking trails.
Sunny is focused on ensuring all three medical offices are providing the absolute best patient/client care, and overall experience. Under her guidance, all offices are up to date with HIPPA, OSHA, and safety procedures so patients and clients can trust that their information is private, and our facilities are safe. Living by her motto “anything is possible when you put your mind to it” opens new and exciting ways to keep the offices modern, yet still able to cater to people who might need different options when it comes to educational materials, marketing, or health aids. Our educational materials, podcasts, and literature are available at all three offices and also on our website: http://www.rejuvadoc.com.
Having experience in varicose vein treatment, Sunny assists Dr. Robin Fleck with ultrasound-guided endovenous laser ablations and spider vein sclerotherapy. All our vein patients first undergo an ultrasound study to evaluate venous reflux disease. From this analysis, Dr. Fleck decides what treatment options are best for our patients. “It is gratifying to see how happy the patients are after completing treatment; they can walk with no pain and seeing their smile is what being in this field is all about,” comments Sunny.
When Sunny is not assisting with veins, she is assisting Dr. Fleck in the dermatology office and with the Acculift tumescent laser-liposuction procedure. Southwest Skin and Cancer Institute treats multiple skin conditions with state of the art medical, and holistic approaches. For example Dr. Fleck offers Botox injections for the treatment of medical conditions such as migraines, TMJ syndrome, hyperhidrosis and Raynaud's syndrome in addition to its cosmetic uses. “People appreciate the fact that if they want an alternative approach to treatment, Dr. Fleck provides them with other options,” adds Sunny.
The Acculift tumescent liposuction is done at Body Oasis Laser Cosmetic Solutions by Dr. Robin Fleck (Sunny assisting) allowing the patient to recover faster, and avoid the additional hospital or surgical facility charges. This 30 minute procedure in which subcutaneous fat is heated with a laser and removed is accomplished with no pain under local anesthesia with the patient awake. In addition to fat removal, the laser’s dual purpose is to stimulate collagen production, making the skin tight. Combined with cosmetic fillers such as Radiesse and Restylane, the Acculift gives results equal to 90% of a surgical facelift without the scars. “Our patients are very pleased with this procedure which lifts sagging jowls and neck without leaving a scar,” remarks Sunny.
In addition to assisting Dr. Fleck, and directing the offices, Sunny oversees patient flow, scheduling, and employee training in all three businesses. She is also in charge of public relations, press releases, and marketing the three businesses. With her extensive knowledge of the local physician network and local businesses, Sunny is able to market with an “out of the box” approach, making it possible to hold a very successful, cosmetic procedure marketing event outside of a local pet store! “There are patients and clients in our area who are not aware of the many excellent services we offer and the ability Dr. Fleck has to relieve pain from varicose veins. My goal is to reach everyone in the local area, and even county-wide to educate the community on the value clients receive at our practices,” Sunny reveals.
Southwest Skin and Cancer Institute, Vein Specialties, and Body Oasis share a common mission which is to help our patients feel beautiful on the inside and out. The products recommended by Dr. Fleck following procedures are carefully selected to promote optimal healing. We offer a variety of skin care products, including topical antioxidants, homeopathic remedies, and preservative-free shampoos. “We want our patients to know that they are our number one priority.”
