New Petroleum Terminals Drive GEM’s Marine Vapor Control Business
Signal Hill, CA (PRWEB) October 16, 2013 -- GEM Mobile Treatment Services, Inc. (GEM), the nationwide leader in mobile vapor control and wastewater treatment services, has witnessed an over 500% increase in temporary marine vapor control services. New and existing petroleum terminals, challenged with moving an unprecedented volume of domestic crude to refiners, are employing GEM’s mobile vapor combustion technology at transfer points to meet compliance standards imposed by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), US Coast Guard (USCG) or State Regulatory Agencies.
“Customers are using GEM because of our marine vapor control experience, plus we bring a record of environmental compliance and safety,” commented Rodney Darland, Corporate Business Development Manager. “The mobility of our equipment offers customers the immediacy of meeting crude logistics demands, enabling them to move product while their facilities are being built out.” Sources of domestic crude where GEM is supporting environmental compliance include the Bakken, Eagle Ford, Marcellus Shale formations and the Oil Sands.
GEM has also realized a steep increase in vapor combustion augmentation services, whereby GEM’s equipment supports existing fixed vapor control systems that may be under capacity, not meeting regulatory standard, or in need for maintenance or replacement due to the higher volume of crude movements. GEM is actively engaged in projects at new or existing petroleum terminals on all coasts and inland waterways.
