It’s October and that means three things: the weather is changing for the colder, the leaves are changing colors, and Halloween! Halloween is many people’s favorite holiday of the year and, as such, is celebrated heavily. These celebrations will often include alcohol, which we all know can make people do things they might not otherwise.
This is the purpose for this announcement: Bad Boys Bail Bonds wants to be sure people are prepared for any situation before they put themselves in a situation they may later regret. For this reason, Bad Boys has released a list of tips on how to prepare for a situation where one might end up in jail. Here’s what people should do to ensure that, should anything happen, they don’t spend more time in jail than they have to:
Know The Number to a Bail Bond Company
Having the number in a phone may not be good enough; police will seize a person’s phone upon arrest. Often, they will let them write down numbers that they may need before they take it but this is not guaranteed.
Have Cash Available
Depending on their bail amount, people may not be able to draw enough from an ATM in the middle of the night. People should have cash available so that they don’t wait until the morning, or worse, through the weekend to get cash.
Be Ready to Provide Essential Information
In order to start the bail process, detainees will need to provide a few key pieces of information: Name, Birthdate, and Jail location. The latter can be obtained by asking someone in booking.
Memorize the Number of at Least One Loved One
This is essential for the same reason as the bail bond company phone number.
Be Courteous and Ask to Get Some Numbers From Your Phone
People should understand that the officers don’t necessarily want to arrest a person; they’re simply doing their jobs. Be nice and courteous to the arresting officer and they will often let that person get numbers from their phone before it’s taken. They may even let them send a text to a loved one to give them a head’s up; if this is an option, a person should absolutely take it.
Write Down Your Credit Card Information
In the same vein as having cash available, people should be sure to write down their credit card information, including: Card Number, Expiration Date, and 3-digit security code.
Nobody goes out intending to go to jail, but mistakes happen and it’s always good to be prepared. By follow these steps, people can be sure that even if their party goes south, at least they should be able to sleep in their bed.
