Older Adults Get Online and Connected at Senior Living Communities in South Carolina
Charlotte, N.C. (PRWEB) October 13, 2013 -- Senior Living Communities retirement communities are the first to launch award-winning ConnectedLiving®, the leader in bridging seniors and technology, in South Carolina.
“Senior Living Communities firmly believes that at any point in one’s life and regardless of their age or condition, their quality of life can improve,” said Katie Huffstetler, Senior Living Communities’ Vice President of Operations. “More than any other factor, socialization with loved ones directly correlates to our Members’ overall happiness and satisfaction with their life. Through our partnership with ConnectedLiving, we can provide our Members with a highly interactive platform which gives them an opportunity to communicate more often with those they hold dear.”
Senior Living Communities’ Members across South Carolina can now get online using a secure and easy-to-use web based social network, coupled with customized trainings and support. Members now have their own personal home page and can select from a variety of activities including email, sharing and viewing photographs, vetted website search and shopping, recording stories, and much more.
Ultimately, Senior Living Communities’ Members will gain new computer skills, improved communications with family and friends and enjoy the increased health benefits from socialization.
ConnectedLiving will be offered throughout every neighborhood of Senior Living Communities’ South Carolina retirement communities, all of which offer the full continuum of care. In addition, family members can set up their own page to maintain contact with their loved ones no matter where they live.
“Older adults continue to have a growing technology presence,” adds Huffstetler. “It keeps them active and connected with loved ones, near and far. Senior Living Communities is excited to partner with ConnectedLiving and their goal of bringing easy-to-use, secure technology to older adults.”
ConnectedLiving Ambassadors will be in the communities weekly to offer enrichment programming, computer learning, and one-on-one support for residents. Remote support for residents, family members and community staff will be available 7 days a week through the ConnectedLiving Center located in Quincy, MA.
“We had a vision five years ago – that if we could help seniors ‘cross the digital divide’ … that we would not only impact their quality of life, but also that of the entire family and extended community,” said Sarah Hoit, CEO and Co-Founder of ConnectedLiving.
The ConnectedLiving program is now available at these Senior Living Communities in South Carolina:
The Lakes at Litchfield in Pawleys Island
Brightwater in Myrtle Beach
