Willow Pet Hotel Announces October 26th Halloween Festival for Families and Pets
Deer Park, NY (PRWEB) October 12, 2013 -- On October 12, 2013, Willow Pet Hotel, Long Island's premier pet boarding and grooming establishment, announces their first annual “Pet Awareness” Halloween fundraiser festival to raise funds and awareness for animal welfare.
The first Pet Awareness Halloween festival will be held on the afternoon of Saturday, October 26th from 12-5 p.m. at the Willow Pet Hotel in Deer Park. The event will feature a costume contest for both children and pets, gift basket raffles, pet ID photographs, face painting for children and temporary, non-toxic “doggie tattoos” made with gentle, canine-safe stencils.
Owner Marc Rosenzweig says the Halloween festival is intended to raise awareness for issues of domestic animal welfare. “Donations are welcome. All proceeds will be benefiting two of our favorite organizations: the Suffolk County SPCA, a wonderful non-profit working to stop animal cruelty, and our own fire department in Deer Park.” The fire department is raising money to buy emergency oxygen masks for family pets, “which is something we strongly support. Oxygen masks are a crucial tool for pet first aid in crisis situations. They save lives.”
“This is a fun, family-friendly day. Bring the kids, bring the pets,” says Rosenzweig. “We've got a great selection of costumes by Zack & Zoey for sale here at the hotel, so anyone can stop in with their pet throughout October and pick one up in time for the festival or for Halloween. We'll also be offering discounted pet toys and samples of some of our pet food and shampoos.”
Willow Pet Hotel is one of Long Island's oldest and most respected dog and cat boarding establishments. Owned and operated by the Rosenzweig family since 1969, the hotel is a premier facility with modern amenities, an on-call veterinarian and a friendly, caring staff. Voted “Best of Long Island” by the Long Island Press, Willow Pet is the only pet boarding facility on Long Island that is registered and inspected by the USDA. In addition to being an upscale home-away-from-home for cats and dogs, Willow Pet Hotel also welcomes birds and other domestic animals such as rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, ferrets, and even pot-bellied pigs!
