Six-guns vs. werewolves in the Old West! They’re hired guns. The best at what they do. They’ve left bodies in their wake across the West. But this job is different. It’ll take all their skill and courage. And very special bullets. Because their targets this time won’t be shooting back. They’ll fight back with ripping claws, tearing fangs and animal cunning. They’re werewolves. A pack of bloodthirsty wolfmen has taken over a small Mexican village, and the gunmen are the villagers’ last hope. The light of the full moon will reveal the deadliest showdown the West has ever seen—three men with six-shooters facing off against snarling, inhuman monsters.. The official release date is November 5st 2013.
Samhain Horror Executive Editor Don D'Auria says: "As soon as I began reading The Guns of Santa Sangre I knew it was something pretty special. Eric Red clearly used his talents as a screenwriter to craft a novel with incredible pacing, sharp dialogue, and terrifying action. This is a lean, tight novel with great characters and very scary werewolves. Plus, he combines two of my favorite genres, horror and westerns, and he does it beautifully."
Plot Summary: Three outlaw gunfighters in turn of the century Mexico accept a mission where they get to keep all the silver in a church that’s left after they use the rest of the silver to kill the werewolves who have taken over a small peasant village. At first planning to steal the treasure, the gunslingers regain their honor as they protect the townspeople in a bloody showdown with the wolf men.
