The past few months have been a success for author Stephen P. Byers with the launch of his website, blog and now with all six of his books being available as Kindle eBooks on Amazon. Byers’ one-of-a-kind work can be purchased for just $6.99 each and are easily auto-delivered wirelessly, diminishing the extra shipping and handling charges of traditional paperback and hardcover books.
Previously a Construction Manager, Byers retired in 1988 and embarked on a storytelling and creative writing career which led to the establishment of his six books; “Goad of Honor,” “The Naked Jaybird,” “A Boy and His Horse,” “Bent Coin” and “Lost River Bridge.” The sixth installment, “Beginning Creative Writing: A Learning Experience,” is not a novel like the others, but a compilation of creative writing seminars which he presented at libraries and schools.
“I want to teach how to imagine and I hope, through my teachings and novels, the public will be able to do so. Hopefully, I will reach even more people with the Kindle eBook launch on Amazon, making my books easier attain,” said Stephen P. Byers.
Below are excerpts from reviews:
“A four-star novel. I was really impressed by the scope of this book, covering so many events over so many years. This author has a real knack for scene construction and pacing.”
-Writer’s Digest Books, Previously Unpublished Annual Contest. Judges' report2000: Honorable Mention, 80 out of 100 points.
“Stephen Byers’ Bent Coin is his most engaging and compelling story yet, and showcases his genius for authentic characters, swift dialogue, action, vivid scenes, drama, believable settings, and, creative and compelling flashbacks; all seamlessly woven into a worthy, gripping, somewhat turbulent tale; a saga that expertly and accurately spans generations and social castes, sweeping and suspenseful in its effective portrayal of the often times complicated, messy and dangerous sides of love and money.”
