AirRam Cordless Vacuum Helps Gtech Scoop Double Award Win
(PRWEB UK) 15 October 2013 -- UK design company Gtech was recognised with two awards at the recent Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce Business Awards.
Held at Droitwich’s Chateau Impney Hotel and hosted by BBC Hereford and Worcester radio presenter, Howard Bentham, the event saw Gtech take home the night’s big prize – Business of the Year.
It also saw its achievements over the past year acknowledged with the Award For Excellence in Innovation.
The double award success at the ceremony marked 12 months of great results for the company.
Nick Grey, founder and CEO of Gtech, said: “The past year has been fantastic with the launch of the AirRam cordless vacuum.
“So we’re really pleased to be acknowledged with these awards.
“We saw off some tough competition, and to receive two prestigious awards is something everyone at Gtech is extremely proud of.
“However, we’re not content to rest on our laurels. We’re always looking to innovate, and our success means we’ve been able to bring in more engineers and design teams to develop new products.
“With these new products we’re looking to make vacuuming as more of a pleasure than a chore,” he said.
Mike Ashton, chief executive of Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce, said: “This year the standard of entries for the awards was very high and any of our category winners could easily have been Business of the Year.
“However, Gtech stood out and impressed the judges as they had a clear and documented vision and strategy for sustainable growth that was particularly outstanding. Well done!”
With the widely successful launch of its AirRam lightweight vacuum cleaners, Gtech has seen its turnover increase to £14 million for 2013 so far – compared to £8 million for the whole of 2012. That figure is projected to reach in excess of £20 million by the close of the financial year.
The launch of the AirRam, an upright vacuum cleaner, also saw profitability rise by around 350%.
Gtech was reported in 2012 by German market research company GfK (Gesellschaft für Konsumforschung) to be the fastest growing floor care brand in value too.
