Fliptu, a social media & commerce platform, announced today its innovative social hub program launched in the music vertical, powering several high profile tours and campaigns for numerous bands and artists.

Fliptu’s social hub service aggregates pictures, video clips & other media fans are sharing before, during and after concerts into a visually engaging social hub, giving non-attending fans a vicarious way to experience the concert online and serving as a visual memento of the concert for all fans to enjoy. Filptu’s social hub platform also enables multi-hashtag aggregation, featured media capability, live stream embed support, and inline e-commerce integration, all designed to replicate the live experience online as closely as possible.

“We found that over 75 percent of fans don’t have the opportunity to attend a concert while their favorite band or artist is on tour. Depending on the band or artist, you’re talking about hundreds of thousands or millions of fans that miss out on the live experience,” according to Jeremy Gocke, Fliptu’s founder. “However, with the proliferation of social media sharing, we’re seeing bits and pieces of those experiences shared by fans directly from the shows, though it’s a very disjointed process for other fans to discover this fan-shared media across multiple social services,” continued Gocke. “Fliptu solves the media discovery issue through it’s aggregation technology and further enhances the experience by integrating other live show components like exclusive merchandise, special ticket offers and VIP meet & greet experiences, doing our best to replicate the live experience online.”

Fliptu recently announced the launch of a concert social hub for Matchbox Twenty (http://mb20.fliptu.com), to support and promote their nationwide tour which kicked off this summer. “We were looking for a way to keep our fans uber-engaged before, during and after the live event,” offered the band’s manager, Nick Lippman, of Lippman Entertainment. “With fans struggling to keep up with all the tour media being shared across multiple social platforms, it seemed like a no brainer to integrate Fliptu’s concert social hub to centralize all things band and tour related to give fans that easy, one-stop shop to consume real time concert media.” Additionally, Fliptu will launch social hubs for Lippman clients Ryan Cabrera and Kady Z to support upcoming tours.

Fliptu has launched campaigns for several bands and artists including McGhee Entertainment clients Darius Rucker, Night Ranger, and Toto; country star Leann Rimes; and pop sensation Cher Lloyd. “Fliptu, for us, has been one of the friendliest ways to curate fan content across multiple socials. What the fans see is endearing and propelling to their enthusiasm for the artist, and what we as marketers see is a visual representation of who, creatively, the audience really is,” offered Taylor Kahan, Director of Operations at Crowd Surf, digital agency for Cher Lloyd.

Additionally, Fliptu recently powered the official social hub for Global Citizen Festival which took place on September 28, 2013 in Central Park and featured an impressive lineup including Stevie Wonder, Kings of Leon, Alicia Keys and John Mayer. “Social media is such an important part of the campaigns we run on Global Citizen. One of the ways that fans earn a ticket to our annual music festival in Central Park is through social media engagement. Fliptu helps to visual the movement we are building in a powerful way and keeps our Global Citizens engaged through out the year,” offered Ryan Gall, Co-Founder & Executive Producer of the Global Citizen Festival.

Fliptu’s social hub service isn’t limited to high profile bands and artists. In fact, it has been built so that any brand, band or artist, on any budget, can create a basic social hub in 60 seconds. The service is free while in beta and will always feature a free basic version, with several upgrade packages available to access more features and customization options.

Fliptu will expand its services to other verticals throughout the rest of the year. Offered Gocke, “The social hub model we’ve proven in the music industry can be replicated for brands and personalities in entertainment, sports and other lifestyle verticals. We’re in the process of on-boarding over 100 partners across each of those verticals, which we’ll debut incrementally throughout the rest of 2013.”
