Born in the USA – Stone Equipment Co Poseidon’s Odeon Bridge Saw Celebrates the Best of US Manufacturing
Punta Gorda, FL (PRWEB) October 19, 2013 -- There was positive news for the US manufacturing sector – and therefore the wider economy – last month when the Institute for Supply Management's (ISM) index of national factory activity showed that manufacturing grew at its fastest pace for more than two years. The index rose to 55.7 for the month of August, the highest point since June 2011.
There was further positive news from the ISM’s new orders sub-index, which jumped to 63.2, putting new orders at their best level for more than two years. The figures are encouraging news for the recovering US economy, where business is picking up once again.
Within the stone equipment industry, market leaders Poseidon are proud to have contributed to the rise in manufacturing output. Their new Odeon bridge saw has been manufactured 100% in the USA.
With 25 years of experience across the team, Poseidon has seen everything that the stone cutting industry has to offer. The company’s engineers have tried and tested the industry’s best offerings and decided to go one better – hence the birth of the Odeon bridge saw. Proudly manufactured by Poseidon in Punta Gorda, FL, the saw provides 45 degree plunge cutting ability and a heavy duty bridge for precise cutting. Executive Engineer Eddie Vertiz explains:
“We wanted to produce an industry leading bridge saw for granite, manufactured here in the USA and featuring the latest technology. Maintaining high safety standards was also very important to us. We used and developed enough stone equipment parts over the years to understand the high priority that needs to be placed on safety.”
With the Odeon’s built in shield cover protection of the X Axis and the bellows that protect the Y Axis, it’s easy to see what Mr Vertiz means. Highly durable, custom fiberglass covers for the blade shroud and the blade carriage protector add further reassurance.
The Odeon also impresses with the way in which it embraces modern technology. With a convenient touch screen display, the bridge saw laser can be controlled by auto-cut programs, while the saw also offers auto switch rotation as an alternative to standard manual bridge rotation.
Powered by a 20 HP motor, Poseidon’s Odeon provides a fast and efficient means of cutting granite and other stone. The hydraulic tilting table, which works with the laser pointer and blades of up to 20”, ensures cuts are clean and precise, meaning that the saw reduces wastage at the same time as enhancing production time.
Though concrete walls are the ideal way to go for installation, the Poseidon team has designed the Oden to be flexible enough that it comes with optional certified steel legs for those who are up against the clock in terms of set up times. It really does seem the Poseidon team has thought of everything – with bridge saws for sale like the Odeon, it’s clear that the rest of the industry is going to have to up its game if it intends to compete.
