Canvasback, Inc announces today that it is the recipient of the “Manufacturer of the Year” award by Minnesota Business Magazine in the “Emerging Player” category. This award honors manufacturing companies that have been established in Minnesota within the past five years and are rapidly rising in some notable way. Brooks Chandler, owner and CEO of Canvasback was quoted to say “We are delighted to have received this award from Minnesota Business Magazine. The employees at Canvasback have worked tirelessly to improve our company and receiving third-party validation of our effort is extremely rewarding for all of us.”

Canvasback is a manufacturer of fabric cargo liners that are custom made for a wide range of vehicle makes and models to protect the interior. The cargo liners are made with a 600 polyester fabric with a pvc backing on the solid colors and heavily sprayed Urethane on the prints for waterproofing. They are available in 7 different colors and prints. “The Liners are cut and seamed for split seats, seat belts, handles and accessories, which means that once you have installed the product, you can still use your vehicle normally. There is no need to remove the liner to fold down a portion of the seat to use other features of the vehicle,” said Chandler.

Canvasback was established in 1991 in Idaho before being purchased by Chandler in 2006. In 2008, Chandler relocated the company to Minnesota, where the manufacturing facility is currently located. Since relocating to Minnesota, Canvasback’s sales have more than tripled due to widespread adoption of the product. Chandler attributes much of the company’s growth to customer service. Canvasback tries to accommodate all customer needs, including special cuts or personalized templates for the liners. “When we develop the patterns, we are very particular,” Chandler explains. “We have more custom options for individuals that would like special cutouts or production ideas.” The company currently offers about 250 configurations and patterns.
