New York, NY (PRWEB) October 17, 2013 -- The Lion Brand Yarn Studio, flagship retail store of Lion Brand Yarn Company, is offering two free “learn to knit” classes to furloughed employees; the classes are taught in two sessions each. Those who are interested can choose to take part one of two on either Tuesday, October 15th (part two October 22nd) or on Thursday, October 17th (part two October 24th) at the store’s location on 34 West 15th Street. Both classes will be held from 2p.m – 4.pm.
All furloughed employees who are interested in taking this introduction to knitting course must provide a valid I.D, and should call the Lion Brand Yarn Studio at 212-243-9070 to reserve a space. Class size is limited, so it is advised that you sign up quickly to secure a spot.
“We’re a community of knitters and crocheters, and we enjoy giving back to others. During this rough time, we want to offer something to help those who are in search of finding some relaxation and peace of mind. Knitting is a great hobby for stressful times like these and keeps you busy,” says Gretchen Fancher, Director of the Lion Brand Yarn Studio.
Once you take a class at the Lion Brand Yarn Studio, you can return to the shop for continued support; the Knitting Doctor is available every Tuesday from 5:30p.m – 6:30p.m for free, informal, drop-in help. The Studio also boasts a crafting table in the back of the store where customers and friends of the shop enjoy convening and working on projects.
