LRQA ISO Standards Update: ISO 14001 CD2 Approved & Scheduled for October 2013 Publication
(PRWEB UK) 15 October 2013 -- A significant output of the ISO 14001 Working Group WG5 meeting in Bogota, which concluded this weekend, is that the ISO 14001 Committee Draft 2 (CD2) document has been approved for publication.
Commenting on progress to date, Steve Williams – LRQA Deputy Technical Director who attended the meetings in Bogota as a representative of the Independent International Organisation for Certification IIOC said, “The committee feels that the concepts are now moving in the right direction and support the Annex SL Principles with a consensus reached to move forward.” Annex SL is the incorporation of a common text and structure across all ISO management system standards.
The document is currently expected out week commencing 21st October, which will be followed by a 3-month comment and ballot period, through to 21st Jan 2014. At this point, the National Body Mirror Committees will review the standard. “The members of WG5 will then review the comments received at their next meeting which will be in Padua, Italy from 25th February to 1st March 2014 with the purpose of moving towards the Draft International Standard (DIS) stage,” explained Williams.
