Green leader Papros Inc. announced support for the automatically scanning laboratory report results and crosschecking suppliers' reported substance concentration values for laboratory reports written using industry standards. MRPRO will not be tied to any one laboratory but will work with any and all of them that follow the industry standard. This will empower companies who typically will have parts from multiple sources and cannot dictate the laboratories the suppliers must use.
Dr. N. Nagaraj, Chief at Papros Inc, had this analogy to make about in-house native XML database for material declarations while comparing it to third party web databases, “Using third party web databases is like going to the village pond with water pots to fill and bring back each time you want water, whereas keeping data in in-house native XML database that adheres to industry standards for materials declaration (for example the IEC 62474) is like having your own water piped in, for the data the supply is through easy web services or cloud uploads. The concept of a third party database is so much of an old and archaic last millennium technology, and the supply chain needs education on this front so it does not end up with additional bureaucracies. Keeping your own data protects intellectual property, gives unlimited views for authorized company employees, gives proper leverage in supplier communications and competitive procurement, and overall economics.” In addition, new features, such as checking for substance concentrations for “once an article always one” type scenario, if needed, and also scrubbing all of the Bills of Materials (BOMs) for the entire product line for evaluation of compliance.
