Palmdale, CA (PRWEB) October 15, 2013 -- The outdoor specialty gear company Abadak has scheduled its next educational Canopies for Kids program in Georgetown, Texas. The program will take place at the community Montessori in Georgetown on Saturday October 26 at the school’s annual Fall Festival. The Canopies for Kids program entails the company setting up a white 10’ x 10’ pop-up tent on top of a large white canvas tarp with an array of paint supplies. Michael Stein, the founder and CEO of Abadak has a short discussion about the importance for unity with students, teachers and parents. After the discussion the children dip their hands in paint and place their hand prints on the bottom of the tent. Teachers place their painted hand prints on the top of the tent signifying unity of teachers and students. After the hand prints design is completed the tent is removed from the tarp and free-form painting is performed on top of the white canvas tarp.
Abadak will be donating two tents and a large white canvas tarp, as well as supplying all the supplies. One tent will be donated for the school's use. The second tent and tarp will be donated to the school for their annual Oak Tree fundraiser where the items will be auctioned off in order to help raise money for the school. This will be the first time the company will be holding the Canopies for Kids event in Texas. Abadak a California-based company currently has plans to move a large portion of their operation to Texas.
Stein said, “This will be the first of many Canopies for Kids programs to be held in Texas. We are more than thrilled to start right here in Georgetown.”
Stein, a resident of Georgetown, has collaborated with the Executive Director of Montessori Shawn Edwards for the event. The event will be in conjunction with the school’s Annual International Fall Festival. The event provides an opportunity for the community at large to visit the campus and learn about the school. Community Montessori school families host booths and activities ranging from hay-rides to local farm stands.
