Ms. Moorhead is a graduate of the William S. Richardson School of Law and practices in the area of family law, including divorce and post-divorce matters, child custody and support, alimony, paternity, and child welfare law.

Michelle K. Moorhead received her B.S. from Boston University in 2003 and her J.D. from William S. Richardson School of Law in 2013. Prior to joining the Law Office of Mei Nakamoto, Ms. Moorhead served as an extern for Family Court Senior Judge R. Mark Browning, the State of Hawaii Department of the Attorney General Family Law Division. At the Hawaii State Judiciary’s Ho’olokahi Program, she assisted in the implementation of public policies to improve youth outcomes, supported parents during child welfare proceedings, advocated for domestic violence victims and engaged in alternative dispute resolution. As the recipient of the 2012 Advocates for Public Interest Law Grant, she worked as a law clerk at the Windward Office of the Legal Aid Society of Hawaii, where she successfully represented indigent clients in administrative child support hearings.
Prior to attending law school, Ms. Moorhead worked at the Hawaii State Senate and enjoyed a noteworthy career in the communications industry. While attending law school, she worked as the Art Department Coordinator for Lost, the internationally-renowned ABC television show.
