LED Specialists LEDLighting.co.uk Praise The Spirit “Solarmast”
(PRWEB UK) 18 October 2013 -- According to gizmag on the 14th of October 2013, The Spirit, produced by the Dutch Kaal Masten Studio runs on 12-24 Volt LED lights, is produced in customised heights of up to 18 metres, and has a robust security system to prevent thieves from taking the expensive lithium batteries in the post. The solar powered LED street light may not be the first of its kind, but it is the first post that has solar panels that run down the mast, and the creators claim that the light needn’t be connected to the grid, meaning it can run on solar power alone.
The creation of the Spirit comes as a response to a growing demand for green energy and more efficient consumption of energy. Street lights are a huge drain on government budgets and energy resources so the Spirit is welcomed as its intelligent technology design allows it to dim itself depending on the surrounding environment.
A representative of LEDlighting.co.uk reported, “The Spirit is an astoundingly simple and innovative design; and it comes at a time that councils and governments are looking for ways to cut their budgets – whilst the initial investment of such a project might by large, the value that technologies like the Spirit 'Solarmast' offer us in terms of long term savings and environmental friendliness can’t be ignored.
“The use of low energy LED bulbs in their design also shouldn’t be overlooked – they know that LEDs consume less energy so they’ve purposely picked a complimentary bulb for their street light, knowing that it will allow the solar energy last for longer periods of time.”
The technology is expected to be rolled out at Technology specialising Dutch University; Eindhoven, soon.
The specialists at LEDlighting.co.uk are constantly working towards gathering the facts and dispelling the myths surrounding LED lights. The UK team are dedicated to providing the very best in LED technology for all of your lighting needs.
