Nationwide Title Clearing, Inc. Prepares for “Light the Night Walk” for Cancer Fundraising
Palm Harbor, FL (PRWEB) October 21, 2013 -- Nationwide Title Clearing, Inc. (NTC), a leading research and document production company and provider to eight of the 10 largest servicers in the residential mortgage industry, has long encouraged its employees to give back not only to the local community, but to the nation at large. In a continued effort to support national initiatives which seek to save lives, NTC has formed a team to participate in the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s “Light the Night Walk” fundraiser. The walk will take place at Bright House Fields, located at 601 N. Old Coachman Rd., Clearwater, FL 33765, and begins at 4:00 p.m. on November 9th.
Over 1.6 million new cancer cases are expected to be diagnosed in 2013, and about 580,350 Americans are projected to die of cancer—almost 1,600 people a day (1). As a result of cancer’s deadly effects, for the last several years, NTC’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts have been dedicated to funding extensive cancer research. The company has compiled a team of 14 employees which they call “The Night Crawlers” to initiate fundraising for the Light the Night Walk. Each team member plans to raise a minimum of $100 to reach the level needed to receive a lighted balloon at the walk. Light the Night participants carry illuminated balloons in three colors:
●White balloons are carried by survivors;
●Red balloons are carried by supporters; and
●Gold balloons are carried by walkers who are walking in memory of loved ones lost to cancer.
In addition to the lighted balloon, every walker who raises $100 or more will receive a “Light the Night” t-shirt, as well as a wristband entitling the walker to attend an inspirational evening which includes food and music at a local venue. Patients and survivors receive these benefits regardless of their fundraising level. All proceeds from the event will go to help fund lifesaving cancer research and support and advocacy programs, as well as financial assistance to cover patient expenses for transportation, medication and testing.
NTC will hold company bake sales and other fundraisers to raise money toward its goal of $1,400.
“We like to do all that we can to make as big of an impact as possible—it’s inspiring to see how [NTC] employees voluntarily devote their free time to social causes,” said John Hillman, CEO of NTC. “Each year, we make an effort to surpass the previous year’s goals, and I’m very proud of my employees and the satisfaction they receive from giving back.”
NTC employees are regularly involved in local community events, and the company has participated in the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Palm Harbor event for four consecutive years, amassing a collective lifetime fundraising total of over $43,000.
