By sharing news about our hCard program on Facebook and YouTube, groups involved in the hCard fundraiser program can earn additional free hCards to sell, meaning they can earn even more money for their school, church or team.

Social media is a way to share news, but now it’s also a way for schools, teams and nonprofit groups to earn money, hCard president Sandra Burnett announced today.

The hCard discount card and mobile app help consumers save money on everyday purchases from restaurants and salons to pharmacies and retail shops. The “h” stands for “heart” because the hCard Mobile App is free for U.S. military and veterans. In addition, organizations can team up with the hCard and earn 100 percent of the profits.

Social media has helped the hCard reach those groups, Burnett said, but it can also help those groups earn more money through the Bonus hCard program.

“By sharing news about our hCard program on Facebook and YouTube, groups involved in the hCard fundraiser program can earn additional free hCards to sell, meaning they can earn even more money for their school, church or team,” she said. “Our goal is to give out more hCards to consumers who can use them to save money and social media has really helped us reach both consumers and nonprofit groups.”

“Social media is changing the ‘playing field’ in the fundraising world.”

The hCard program also uses social media to tell the stories of its users and community business owners who advertise with the hCard to reach their local audience.

“Social media is all about making connections, which is the same goal we have at the hCard,” said Greg Fawcett of Precision Marketing Partners, the hCard social media manager. “Facebook, Twitter, Blogging and Google+ are a wonderful way to showcase each community and tell the stories of how the hCard is helping consumers, business owners and nonprofits.”
