SAE 2013 Counterfeit Parts Avoidance Symposium Slated for Dallas/Fort Worth in December
Warrendale, Pa. (PRWEB) October 17, 2013 -- SAE International announces that leading electronics distributors TTI, Inc., Mouser Electronics and Sager Electronics have partnered as sponsors of its SAE 2013 Counterfeit Parts Avoidance Symposium – South.
The event will be held Tuesday, December 10, 2013, at the DoubleTree DFW Airport North. It will provide updates on the development of SAE standards, a look at the state-of-the-art for counterfeit detection and verification, and supply chain management techniques to reduce risk. In addition to the presentations, the speakers will close the program with a lively panel discussion and answer all the questions you have about counterfeit mitigation. The content of this program will be geared toward the needs of the electronics procurement professional. The organizers of the program include the Chair of the SAE G-19 Counterfeit Parts Standards committee, Phil Zulueta, and SAE G-19 committee members Henry Livingston, Dr. Diganta Das, Sultan Lilani, Kevin Sink, Keith Gregory, and Chuck Amsden.
With some estimates showing that counterfeit parts may account for 10 percent of electronic equipment sales, detection and avoidance in both the DOD and commercial supply chains is a key element of any modern purchasing system. Buyers across the spectrum have a need to know, understand, and implement information like that to be supplied in this symposium.
“We are pleased to be working with TTI Inc., Mouser and Sager for this program,” Patti Kreh, manager, engineering events, SAE International, said. “This truly is a win-win for both organizations with SAE providing the content that is current and relevant, and the combined TTI/Mouser/Sager team to provide marketing and promotional expertise geared specifically for the electronics procurement professionals.”
