We are so honored to be recognized in a group of the ‘best of the best’ in digital healthcare and look forward to presenting our proposal in the final rounds - Roy Broadfoot, CEO and founder of HealthEd.

HealthEd’s proposal has been chosen to advance to the final round of the Verizon Powerful Answers Awards Contest. Of more than 1,300 entries, HealthEd stands among 30 finalists and is a Top 10 contender in the healthcare category.
The contest, bringing together the brightest and most innovative minds in the industry, will reward companies whose proposals address society’s biggest challenges in one of 3 categories: education, healthcare, or sustainability. Solutions will incorporate a combination of Verizon’s network, device, and platform technologies.
Following a recent gold-medal win at the MM&M Awards for “Best Digital Initiative for Healthcare Professionals”, HealthEd continues to display its expertise and depth in innovation as it advances to the final rounds of the Verizon contest.
HealthEd’s proposal, “Verizon Healthy Exchange Program”, focuses on providing health education/health coaching to under-served communities through the use of mobile technology to connect, inform, and empower patients.
The program, in conjunction with Verizon’s technology platform, set out to relieve the pressures of hospitals to reduce preventable re-admissions and ensure adequate education at time of discharge. Using the proposed technology, participants would be able to access health-related information, stay connected to providers and local health service resources, and receive technology-based support to supplement in-person interactions with a healthcare extender.
“We are so honored to be recognized in a group of the ‘best of the best’ in digital healthcare and look forward to presenting our proposal in the final rounds,” said Roy Broadfoot, CEO and founder of HealthEd. “At HealthEd, we are committed to creating a healthier world, and winning this contest would bring us a step closer to being able to extend the reach of health education,” he added.
HealthEd will pitch its idea to a panel of influential leaders in the industry later this month, with winners of prize monies of up to $1 million in each category scheduled to be announced in January during the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
