Japanese Documentary on Speech Synthesis Released for US Audience via Ustream TV
Santa Clara, CA (PRWEB) October 17, 2013 -- NeoSpeech, a leader in text-to-speech (TTS) software and speech-enabled solutions, has announced the US release of Japanese documentary, Voice Synthesis, featuring VoiceText™ speech synthesis software via Ustream TV.
The Japanese documentary called 音声合成 (Voice Synthesis in English), was aired as part of Channel Japan to the US audience and will be available for one month via Channel Japan on Ustream TV. Channel JAPAN is an informational program broadcast across Asia and offers a fresh look at the latest in the Japanese economy, business, trends, culture and technology.
Voice synthesis makes it possible for a computer to read out text by using real human voices stored in a database. With advancements to make such voices even more human-like, the possible applications are growing.
For example, HOYA Service in Japan has tailored to a variety of applications. A small Japanese town like Niigata Prefecture Aga takes advantage of speech synthesis for the purpose of disaster prevention. The town hall broadcasts bear warnings to the residents via its handset monitor. Due to the lack of human resources in the small town, speech synthesis is a cost effective way to deliver alert notifications to the residents. In addition, educational institutes like Aoyama Gakuin University has adopted its English speech synthesis in English conversation classes, by using HOYA’s GlobalVoice English learning application.
The Japanese documentary called “音声合成” (Turning Text into Voice in English) was originally produced by TV Tokyo and has aired via CNBC Asia, CNBC India, and Nikkei CNBC.
