Can the Tigers Retooled Line Up Bring Home Another Win For Detroit? Find Out Live at Game 5 Tonight
South Windsor, CT (PRWEB) October 17, 2013 -- The Detroit Tigers evened out the ALCS playing field with a 7-3 victory over the Boston Red Sox last night. Now tied with 2 wins each, the Tigers take on the Red Sox once more in Detroit tonight for Game 5. Can the Tigers take advantage of their winning, retooled lineup to drive another decisive victory over the Red Sox? Find out who clinches Game 5 of the ALCS live with tickets from TicketLiquidator.com
With a retooled lineup geared to rev up the offense, the Tigers broke the trend of keeping the ALCS games close against the Red Sox with a 7-3 victory last night. Austin Jackson, dropped from leadoff hitter to eight, had a bases-loaded walk that gave the Tigers their first run. Torii Hunter, hitting leadoff for the first time since 1999, had a two-run double. Cabrera, second to bat for the only other time in his career since 2004, drove in two runs.
Previously, a single run had decided the ALCS games between the Tigers and the Red Sox. In Game 4, Detroit blew up the field with five runs in the second inning alone.
"I will go with this same lineup tomorrow for sure,'' said Tigers manager Jim Leyland, according to Newsday. "We're very fortunate, and this series is tied. The only thing we know for sure is we're going back to Boston.”
The Tigers send star pitcher Sánchez to the mound again tonight, while Jon Lester starts for the Red Sox. When the pitchers last faced off in Game 1, the Tigers reigned victorious, 1-0. The question remains whether Sánchez can shutout the Red Sox again.
The Detroit Tigers take on the Boston Red Sox at 8:07 p.m. EST tonight. Catch Game 5 at Comerica Park in Detroit, Mich.
