AFEI Announces Winners of Its 2013 Excellence in Enterprise Information Awards
Arlington, VA (PRWEB) October 17, 2013 -- The Association for Enterprise Information (AFEI) is proud to announce the winners of its 2013 Excellence in Enterprise Information Awards.
The top industry award goes to The MITRE Corporation’s Center for Advanced Aviation System Development (CAASD) for its Performance-Based Navigation (PBN) Data Analytics program supporting the Federal Aviation Administration. The top government award goes to the Army Medical Command’s Behavioral Health Division Clinical Capability Management Team for the Behavioral Health Data Portal program. These awards signify outstanding, innovative use of technology to increase efficiency and improve operations across an enterprise.
The winning organizations demonstrated, in the opinion of the judges, the best applications of technology and leadership to improve enterprise performance. Innovative approaches, quantifiable metrics, long-term strategic effect, cultural change and measureable accomplishments were all clear attributes of the winning nominations.
Honorable Mention awards go to two programs that demonstrated excellent achievement. These programs are: the AMP Integration into the AT21 Program performed by the USTRANSCOM JDPAC AT21 Team for the USTRANSCOM Operations Directorate (TCJ3), and the Surface Transportation and Public Transportation Information Sharing and Analysis Centers (ST & PT ISACs) program performed by EWA Information and Infrastructure Technologies, Inc., the Association of American Railroads (AAR) and the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) for the benefit of the U.S. transportation and Federal, State and Local law enforcement communities.
“The Excellence in Enterprise Information awards program is a great competition, and selecting a winner is always difficult because there are so many exceptional nominations,” commented Greg Wenzel, Senior Vice President at Booz Allen Hamilton and Chairman of the AFEI Board of Directors. “There are some superb and innovative IT programs being delivered in both the public and private sectors. AFEI is raising the level of awareness about the tremendous work being done by both industry and government in combining innovation and emerging technologies to solve the government’s most complex problems and create remarkable value at the enterprise level.”
“AFEI is extremely proud of this award program,” said David Chesebrough, President of the association. “Over the years we have received hundreds of nominations and each of them, in some way, reflects the hard work and creativity that is happening across government and industry.”
Synopses of these and the remaining nominations can be found at the AFEI web site (http://www.afei.org).
