Research Leads to Improved Pregnancy Rates: Shady Grove Fertility Doctors and Staff Presented 13 Abstracts at 2013 ASRM Annual Meeting in Boston
Rockville, MD (PRWEB) October 17, 2013 -- This week physicians and scientists from Shady Grove Fertility, the nation’s leading fertility center, presented their newest research at the 69th Annual ASRM (American Society for Reproductive Medicine) meeting taking place in Boston.
Among the scientific advances is data showing improved outcomes using vitrification, increasing pregnancy rates with rescue sperm injection for unfertilized eggs, and reduction of high-order multiples through singled embryo transfer.
Rescue Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) Following Failed Conventional Insemination Results in Favorable Clinical Pregnancy Rates.
This study shows egg that do not fertilize with conventional insemination, can be fertilized via emergency or rescue ICSI. During ICSI, embryologists select one healthy sperm to inject into the egg. Adding ICSI when fertilization has not occurred has resulted in favorable pregnancy rates for patients.
Does Double IUI Increase Clinical Pregnancy Rates when Using Donor Sperm?
Study shows success rates using donor sperm with one intrauterine insemination (IUI) are comparable to success rates with two inseminations, which is standard practice. This important finding will make future donor inseminations cycles more cost-effective for patients without compromising success rates.
Relationship Between Endometrial Lining Thickness and Pregnancy Rates.
Three retrospective studies evaluated the relationship of the endometrial thickness compared to live birth rates in patients undergoing assisted reproductive technology. Also reviewed was the role race/ethnicity may play on endometrial thickness and success rates, as well as the impact of endometrial thickness for patients with endometriosis.
Also presented:
