SWIG MEDIA/SWIG.TV Makes a Global Commitment to Mainstream Chinese Content
Beijing, China (PRWEB) October 21, 2013 -- Los Angeles based SWIG Global Mobile Entertainment Network (http://swig.tv/), the emerging market leader in global entertainment access from a single app, anytime and anywhere, announced an ongoing relationship with the ChinaVision Network that will make mainstream Chinese movies, television series, and cartoons available worldwide through the SWIG network.
The programming features movies and series never before seen outside of Asia. “There are over 50 million Chinese living outside China,” said Swig Global Digital Entertainment Network CEO Ivan Gulas. “And the SWIG Network is committed to bringing them fresh, contemporary programming direct from major Chinese studios and broadcasters.”
SWIG is a state-of-the-art global digital entertainment network freely available on mobile and fixed devices and broadband enabled TV’s. SWIG offers a broad selection programming typically not available through other cable, broadcast, or online channels.
New offerings on the SWIG ChinaVision Network include innovative made-for-web movies and series on the Youku Original Channel; mainstream movies and series on the Dynasty Channel; hit television series on the Metan Channel; original movies from Linksus Media; and popular cartoons on the Supernova and Cartoonigans Channels, with more channels and content coming online over the coming weeks.
The ChinaVision Network is a China-based distributor managed by DeZerlin Media. “The distribution system has always been geared toward importing Hollywood films into China,” said DeZerlin CEO Lin Zhang. “But thanks to SWIG, we can now reverse that flow and export world-class Chinese movies and series into the international markets.”
In addition to the alliance with ChinaVision, SWIG has signed a Strategic Partnership Agreement with Youku Original, a division of the Youku web portal, China’s number one online destination, with viewership for their series often topping 100 million or more.
“Youku Original has been quite successful with its original productions in China,” states He Chen, Youku Original Manager of Strategic Cooperation. “And we are pleased that SWIG has recognized the international appeal of our content, allowing us to reach a worldwide audience.”
“With the meteoric rise of China in recent years, the world is curious about Chinese culture and values. With SWIG available in over 200 countries and territories worldwide, this Chinese content will appeal to far more than simply Chinese ex-pats,” said Mark Byers, Managing Director of SWIG Asia.
During an extensive beta phase the SWIG Global Mobile Entertainment Network app was enhanced to state-of-the-art standard, and is available in over 200 countries and territories, on over 100 wireless carriers, and on over 400 types of devices, with global access second to none through over 100,000 distributed servers.
“Offering our viewers the very best viewing experience is an essential starting point," states Gulas. “But in the long run, it will be our content selection that will insure our success.” SWIG is targeting channel partners who offer indie and festival films, international channels in their original languages, special interest channels, documentaries and history channels, original programming, films and TV shows no longer available on major networks, and live TV channels in any language wishing to expand to a global footprint by offering simultaneous live broadcasts on SWIG.
The SWIG Global Mobile Entertainment Network app is free, and available on iTunes, Amazon, and Google Play. Download links can be found at http://www.SWIG.TV.
