T-System Honors Six Healthcare Organizations with National Award
Dallas, TX (PRWEB) October 21, 2013 -- T-System Inc. today announced the six winners of its fourth annual T-System Client Excellence Awards, chosen from more than 1,900 facilities nationwide that have implemented its emergency department (ED) solutions. The awards recognize emergency care facilities and physician groups who partner with T-System effectively to improve their quality of patient care, operational processes and financial results.
“The achievements of these six emergency care providers during the past year demonstrate how the right solutions designed for the ED can transform a hospital’s clinical, operational and financial outcomes,” said Sunny Sanyal, T-System chief executive officer. “We are pleased to recognize these healthcare champions for their extraordinary commitment to deliver the highest-quality emergency care.”
The award winners are:
Brockton Hospital (Brockton, MA) – winner for Excellence in Physician Documentation: The emergency physicians at this Massachusetts hospital successfully used EV(TM) for physicians alongside their separate ED nursing documentation system to improve reimbursement dramatically and reduce cost through more accurate and complete documentation of patient care and elimination of dictation.
Cascade Valley Hospital (Arlington, WA) – winner for Excellence in Interoperability: This longtime T-System client implemented HL7 two-way interfacing to send and receive crucial information throughout the facility – resulting in faster, more precise and safer patient care.
Children’s Hospital Colorado (Aurora, CO) – winner for Excellence in Revenue Cycle: Children’s implemented T-System facility coding across a network of what will soon be eight facilities in central Colorado to improve compliance and charge capture – setting them on a path to realize a $23 million annual increase in revenue.
Coon Memorial Hospital (Dalhart, TX) – winner for Excellence in Reinvention: For a complete makeover of their ED, Coon Memorial implemented T-System’s full spectrum of solutions including an ED information system, performance-enhancing technology, physician coding and billing and facility coding – attesting to Meaningful Use, improving throughput, shortening accounts receivable days, transforming documentation and optimizing ED revenue.
Hunt Regional Hospital (Greenville, TX) – winner for Excellence in Transparency: Before implementing EV, Hunt Regional’s emergency care was documented manually in a non-standard way leading to an unknown number of unfinished, lost and unfiled charts. The adoption of T-System’s ED information system provided a complete documentation makeover – improving information transparency and results across the department.
Queens Hospital Center (Queens, NY) – winner for Excellence in Productivity: This busy New York City trauma center used T-System’s paper documentation system to transform their productivity times, improve key performance metrics and earn the distinction of having the best EMS turnaround time in New York City – all while experiencing unprecedented two-fold patient volume surges caused by two nearby hospital closures and an H1N1 influenza outbreak.
As part of the 2013 Client Excellence Awards program, T-System will make a donation to a hospital foundation or charity on behalf of each organization. Winners will also receive a commemorative plaque and special recognition at the 2014 T-System linkED emergency care conference.
