The Annapolis and Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce held its annual Business Hall of Fame event on October 2, 2013. CEO of Heads-Up Consultants, llc., Dr. Jane Snider was selected for the 2013 Business Leader of the Year. The Business Hall of Fame salutes businesses and individuals who contribute in outstanding ways to the greater community.
The Business Leader of the Year Award is presented to an individual who demonstrated exceptional qualities that are needed in managing and leading a successful business or organization. The honoree should be a visionary and possess outstanding leadership attributes that have led their organization to being distinguished as among the best.
Dr. Jane Snider was nominated by Nicole Donegan of Severn Savings Bank in Annapolis. A judging panel of 13 approved her application. She was selected for her leadership in founding The Summit School and for her continued philanthropy through service in the local community. She now brings her years of experience as a professor, trainer, mentor, leader and fundraiser to Heads-Up Consultants, llc. to consult with nonprofit organizations and school leaders, and to serve parents whose children struggle in school, her three passions.
Dr. Snider was applauded for her strong sense of community and the numerous initiatives she developed to serve vulnerable children from the city of Annapolis as well as families whose children have learning challenges. Dr. Snider was awarded the Brava! Award by SmartCEO in 2011 for her business achievement, is a TWIN honoree in 2012, Tribute to Women in Industry, recognizing women who have made significant contributions in executive positions, and has earned nine other awards or honors during her career. She took the school she founded to a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence stance 10 years after it opened in 1989.
