MarketCounsel Reveals the Remaining Speakers and Topics for MarketCounsel Summit 2013

Now they release the event’s additional general and breakout sessions, resulting in three packed days of meaningful conversation for the independent investment adviser industry. The MarketCounsel Summit is scheduled for December 10 – 13, 2013 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada.
MarketCounsel revealed that the Summit will include an innovative talk-show format where MarketCounsel’s Brian Hamburger will interview industry leaders that see things differently. Steven Lockshin (Convergent Wealth Advisors), Spenser Segal (Actifi) and David Canter (Fidelity Investments) will discuss how the industry must evolve to continue its utility and growth trajectory. Milton Ezrati of Lord Abbett and Co. will then field questions from attendees on the current economic outlook over lunch at “The Economist Buffet.”
Breakout sessions will be geared towards either executives or operations staff. Dan Skiles (Shareholders Service Group), Tom Embrogno (Docupace), Ken Moyle (DocuSign) and William French (Fidelity Investments) will explore data security risk and fraud detection, as well as risk mitigation and adviser liability while Kelli Cruz (Cruz Consulting Group) will host an adviser panel including Michael Nathanson (The Colony Group) and Yonhee Gordon (JMG Financial Group) to illustrate how advisers are using compensation programs to propel their businesses. Then, Marion Asnes (Idea Refinery) will sit down with John Rourke (Gotham Tech Labs) and Neal Goldman (Relationship Science) to explore innovate marketing tools that harness the mobile and DIY trends. Gary Davis (MarketCounsel) will assemble a panel of investment advisers that have recently undergone a regulatory examination to conduct a live after-action review. Finally Angie Herbers will review how advisory firms can save time and money by predicting and planning for the future and identify actual steps to get there. Dodd Kittsley (BlackRock) will provide a much-needed examination of exchange traded products. Nick Georgis (Charles Schwab Advisor Services) will round out the agenda with his analysis of adviser benchmarking to look at drivers for growth at the fastest-growing advisory firms.
