Springboard Nonprofit Consumer Credit Management and Three Square Food Bank Collaboration Helps Southern Nevada Residents
Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) October 21, 2013 -- Thanks to a new collaboration with Three Square Food Bank (“Three Square”), Springboard Nonprofit Consumer Credit Management, Inc. (“Springboard”) is expanding its reach to families in need in the Southern Nevada area.
Three Square is Southern Nevada’s only food bank providing food assistance to the residents of Lincoln, Nye, Esmeralda and Clark counties. When individuals and families contact Three Square for emergency food services or to complete a Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (“S.N.A.P.”) application, they may also receive referrals to Springboard’s financial counseling services, which include housing, rental, foreclosure prevention and consumer credit counseling.
Springboard may also refer its Southern Nevada clients who express trouble affording food to Three Square for a free emergency food and/or S.N.A.P. benefits screening. Emergency food is given to needy families on an as-needed basis, whereas S.N.A.P., formerly known as food stamps, provides long-term food assistance to hungry families.
“We’re very excited to work with the clients of Three Square,” said Melinda Opperman, Springboard’s senior vice president. “We share a common mission with Three Square and that is to help people improve their lives.”
Three Square recently held a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Three Square Center. “The new center offers immediate phone assistance for S.N.A.P. applications, agency resources and more,” said Brian Burton Three Square’s President and CEO. “We are pleased to offer Springboard as a resource to our clients who seek help stabilizing their finances.”
