Aiming to expand their market share in the Japanese market, US high tech equipment designer, developer, and manufacturer nTact has signed an agreement with Matsubo Corporation, a successful and highly regarded Japanese trading company.

Matsubo agreed to exclusively represent nTact’s line of high demand slot die coating systems from a sales and service perspective. The companies will work together to market these products to the Japanese flat panel display, solid state lighting and photovoltaic industries as well as for other organic and printed electronics applications. Regarded as the inventors of slot die coating (also referred to in Japan as “slit coating”) for microelectronics applications, nTact, through it’s partnership with Matsubo, will offer it’s line of thin-film depositions systems in the Japanese market for both research and development as well as full production applications. These systems are quickly becoming a standard method for depositing various thin film layers for applications such as OLED (display and lighting), touch panel, organic TFT’s, and a variety of other organic and printed electronics applications.

Headquartered in Tokyo, Matsubo acts as a traditional trading company for advanced technology from around the world. However, Matsubo is much more than that, offering unmatched service capability with a team of highly qualified engineers who not only provide service support, but can offer consulting, engineering, and even design improvement services. nTact’s product line will be offered through Matsubo’s Advanced Process and Precision Machinery Division, focusing on the flat panel displays, PV, as well as other high tech product applications.

Mr. Akira Otsuka, Director of Matsubo’s Advanced Process & Precision Machinery Division, commented, “We are very happy to be working with nTact to offer their Slot Die Product in the Japanese market. We believe that nTact has excellent technology which can achieve wide range of applications to coat various film thicknesses with great uniformity, which will contribute to the drastic process improvement of many Japanese customers.”

Miguel Friedrich, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at nTact, added, “The Japanese market has historically always been a very important market for cutting edge technology such as flat panel display. While in recent years it has been a market of slow activity for nTact, due in part to the maturing of the LCD industry, as some of these emerging market applications continue to develop and become mainstream products, there is not doubt the Japanese market will once again be a growth market for us. The relationship with a successful Japanese trading company such as Matsubo will give nTact the debt and infrastructure needed to effectively service customers in this key market.”

Matsubo and nTact will debut their new partnership at the FPD International 2013 conference and exhibition in Yokohama, Japan, October 23-25 at booth 2622, where they will have nTact’s popular nRad slot die coating R&D system on display.
