AMERGINT Awarded Contract for GPS TT&C Modem
Colorado Springs, CO (PRWEB) October 22, 2013 -- AMERGINT’s softFEP-9000 Modem leverages the adaptable softFEP framework to provide a high-performance and economical solution for the long-term sustainment of the GPS mission. The Air Force recognizes the benefits of AMERGINT’s innovative software architecture for command, ranging, and telemetry processing in reusable software devices. The softFEP-9000 introduces an unprecedented life-cycle support concept, extending the lifetime of the TT&C Modem while simultaneously lowering the procurement cost.
The softFEP-9000 is available with either an IF or RF interfaces and comes in a standard configuration with two downlinks and one uplink channel. Additional channels are available to meet customer operational needs. The modem also supports USB for commercial, civil and military space customers. Since all waveform-specific processing is executed in software, additional modulation types are easily added as separate applications, much like apps on a smart phone.
The graphical user interface (GUI) is designed with ease-of-use features such as the ability to create nearly limitless views of Modem information with its drag-and-drop capability. Users often create specific GUIs for integration and sell-off of ground stations and more simplified panels for day-to-day operations.
AMERGINT is uniquely qualified to provide the GPS TT&C Modem based on its end-to-end softFEP solution. The architecture makes it simple to add Front End Processors, Data Recorders, Tracking Receivers, Network Gateways, Mission Data Processors, and Crypto Interface Units on the same softFEP framework. softFEP Apps can run on the same computer platform or on separate servers. softFEP provides the low cost, high availability, and long life-cycle desired by the Air Force.
