The Brokerage, Inc. Partners with HEB Grocery Stores to Educate Texans about the Affordable Care Act

HEB shoppers have us for 23 days at 156 locations. That’s more than half of the HEB stores in Texas, and the hope is that we can demystify ACA for a lot of people.

From October 16 to December 13, agents that are contracted with The Brokerage, Inc. will be available for consultation at HEB supermarkets around Texas. This collaboration will serve as an opportunity for health insurance agents to grow their business and will also benefit consumers by educating them on their health insurance choices. For 14 hours a week (Monday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Wednesday, 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.), the agents are there to help answer shoppers’ questions about health insurance and the Patient Protection Affordable Care Act (PPACA) while walking them through the process of signing up for coverage.

This partnership with HEB will help contracted agents reach out more easily to Texans about their health insurance options. However, being contracted with The Brokerage, Inc. isn’t the only criterion for agents. They also need to undergo AHIP Medicare certification and ACA certification. The Obamacare overhaul is one of the biggest changes to impact the nation in recent memory, and The Brokerage Inc.’s thorough training program ensures that agents can competently tackle any and all questions that HEB’s customer base might have.

For the first time in history, every American will be required to have health insurance by January 1, 2014. It’s estimated that 6.3 million Texans are currently without health insurance coverage. Hence, TBI’s timing is spot-on. Agents get face-to-face with prospects, and the consumers get informed and covered.

The Brokerage Inc. agents will be offering a portfolio of ACA and Medicare products from a variety of top carriers like Coventry, Aetna Medicare, UHC, BCBSTX, Transamerica PDP, and Cigna PDP.
