Brook Forest Voices (BFV) audiobook producer and publisher has begun the search for audio talent to narrate Elizabeth Ann Galligan’s "Secrets of the Plumed Saint" scheduled for release the first quarter 2014. "Secrets of the Plumed Saint" was a 2012 International Book Awards Finalist in three categories, Western, Multicultural and Religious Fiction, as well as a 2012 Finalist for the New Mexico-Arizona Books Awards.
"Secrets of the Plumed Saint" is a crime novel. But as the crime, the theft of a revered statue of the Santo Nino de Atocha, is being solved, the reader is immersed in the daily life of a rural mountain village in northern New Mexico. Because the book is set in New Mexico it is peppered with Spanish phrases, terms of endearment, etc. requiring a narrator fluent in Spanish and English with the ability to portray a village full of characters.
Elizabeth Ann Galligan, Ph.D., poet and educator, retired from teaching in 2007 and set out to write her first book. Given her enjoyment of the multicultural heritage of the Southwest, its only natural "Secrets of the Plumed Saint" is set in her residence of choice, New Mexico, and is populated with richly drawn, genuine characters. Quoting Daniel T. Paulos, Director of the Saint Bernadette Institute of Sacred Heart, "The story, the artistic flow of words and scenes, the suspense - all expertly relayed by the poetic soul of Elizabeth Ann Galligan - offer to the readers an intriguing invitation to take a pilgrimage to the Land of Enchantment with its glorious traditions, customs and diverse culture."
