Having a part in the Rock ‘n’ Roll Los Angeles Halloween Half-Marathon allows us to roll up our sleeves and lend our support to the ASPCA throughout the entire race weekend.

HAUPPAUGE, NY (PRWEB) October 25, 2013

Walkers Shortbread, the 115-year-old family-owned Scottish bakery, is proud to announce it will once again join the ASPCA® (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals®) for the 2013 Rock ‘n’ Roll Los Angeles Halloween Half-Marathon on Sunday, October 27, 2013.

Walkers Shortbread first worked with the ASPCA in January 2012 to help promote the organization’s mission to prevent animal cruelty nationwide. With every purchase of the Scottie Dog Shaped Shortbread and Chocolate Scottie Dog Shaped Shortbread through the end of 2013, Walkers donates ten cents to the ASPCA. Walkers has committed to donating at least $50,000 to the ASPCA during the 2013 calendar year.

During the 2013 Rock ‘n’ Roll Los Angeles Halloween Half-Marathon, Walkers will be offering free samples to attendees of the Health & Fitness Expo on Saturday, October 26, as well as the festivities to take place during and following the half-marathon on Sunday, October 27, at the ASPCA Bark Park.

“Our work with the ASPCA, which has been tremendously well received by our staff and customers, is a great way to generate awareness about animal cruelty and homelessness,” says Lisa Sherman, Walkers Shortbread Brand Manager. “Having a part in the Rock ‘n’ Roll Los Angeles Halloween Half-Marathon allows us to roll up our sleeves and lend our support to the ASPCA throughout the entire race weekend.”
