Take Action and tell three women you know and love to get their breast screening today.
Huntington Station, NY (PRWEB) October 23, 2013
According to the American Cancer Society (ACS), 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their life time. This is a startling statistic that must change. The United Breast Cancer Foundation is working diligently this month to increase awareness of their Breast Cancer Screening Program, which provides free or low cost breast cancer screenings.
When a cancer is detected in its early stages, there is a 99% cure rate (ACS, 2012). Through the Breast Screening Program, UBCF provides free or low cost breast screenings to women regardless of age, race, income or medical insurance. UBCF covers a variety of screening technologies, from mammography and ultrasound to breast thermography and MRI. UBCF also offers Individual Grants, Breast Reconstruction, Child Sponsorship, Holistic Care, Audrey B. Mastroianni College Scholarship and Domestic Services.
