Breast Cancer Screening

Take Action and tell three women you know and love to get their breast screening today.

Huntington Station, NY (PRWEB) October 23, 2013

According to the American Cancer Society (ACS), 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their life time. This is a startling statistic that must change. The United Breast Cancer Foundation is working diligently this month to increase awareness of their Breast Cancer Screening Program, which provides free or low cost breast cancer screenings.

When a cancer is detected in its early stages, there is a 99% cure rate (ACS, 2012). Through the Breast Screening Program, UBCF provides free or low cost breast screenings to women regardless of age, race, income or medical insurance. UBCF covers a variety of screening technologies, from mammography and ultrasound to breast thermography and MRI. UBCF also offers Individual Grants, Breast Reconstruction, Child Sponsorship, Holistic Care, Audrey B. Mastroianni College Scholarship and Domestic Services. To learn more about UBCF and to access applications to all seven programs, please visit http://www.ubcf.info or call 877-UBC 4 CURE.

UBCF works diligently to inform the public on a variety of cancer treatment options. This month, UBCF’s Thought Leader, Andrea Hanson, CEHP, IKYTA is highlighted in USA Today’s “The Future of Cancer Care and Survivorship”. Take a look and learn about some exciting new developments in this ever-evolving field of integrative care.

UBCF works with several partners to raise awareness and funds to support UBCF’s mission. Our partners include T-Tapp the Workout that Works, Lucky Clover Trading Company, eBay Giving and Volkswagen of Huntington, NY. Please consider supporting UBCF through these partnerships.
