Local RV Dealership Offers RV Winterizations with Donation to Food Bank
Idaho Falls, ID (PRWEB) October 24, 2013 -- On Friday, October 25 and Saturday, October 26, 2013 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. receive a free RV winterization at Bish’s RV Supercenter (Trailers, Fifth Wheels, Campers, RVs, and more) in Idaho Falls by donating canned food. All the food collected will be donated to the Idaho Falls Community Food Bank.
The Idaho Falls Community Food Bank is a local non-profit organization that collects and distributes food throughout the community. They receive food donations from state and federal organizations along with local fundraisers and donors. The organization was designed to meet emergency needs, and all recipients need a referral from a participating agency or group in order to receive food. Recipients are eligible to receive six food boxes over a six month period. “Keeping the donations we received during this event local was a big deal for us,” said Megan Walker, Marketing Director at Bish’s RV. “The Idaho Falls Community Food Bank was a perfect fit. They help between 600 and 700 local families each month.”
In the fall, RV owners prep their units for the long winter months that are ahead. This RV winterizing service could cost up to $150. Bish’s RV wanted to host an event that could help both the local RVers and the local community. “If you purchase an RV from Bish’s, you already get this service for free every year,” said Mike Baker, Service and Parts Director at Bish’s RV. “But this year, we thought, why not open it up to the entire community and help a local organization out at the same time.”
Preparing your RV for the winter months is imperative, and RV winterizing is a crucial step. This procedure protects your water lines, hot water heater, and other elements from freezing. Damage to your water system could cost you thousands in repair. Knowing how to winterize a trailer could also help you save money every year. On the Bish’s RV Blog (bishs.com/rvblog), there are 14 steps and a video giving you a tutorial on how to winterize your RV. “We know some RVers cannot make it in during the free RV winterizing days. So we’ve posted a step-by-step guide and a video to help those at home get this process done,” said Baker.
During the RV Winterizing Days, no appointment is necessary. Bish’s RV asks that you need to be prepared to stay with your trailer and the process could take up to 30 minutes depending on line length. For more information about winterizing your RV, call the Bish’s RV Service Department at 208.529.4386.
If you’d like to donate to the cause but do not need an RV winterization, please drop off your donation to Bish’s RV of Idaho Falls at 3855 N 5th E (Lewisville Hwy) Idaho Falls, ID 83401. The dealership will be collecting food items until Monday, November 4, 2013.
