Skype App Store Is Officially Closed, but Callnote Is Going Strong
Boston, MA (PRWEB) October 24, 2013 -- Since October 22nd Skype App Directory is no longer active. Individuals and businesses used the App Store to enhance Skype experience and add functionality to their accounts.*
In the e-mail distributed among the developer community Skype announced that it would also terminate its Desktop APIs by the end of 2013. Developers who have employed APIs will have to work with Skype URIs to develop and support existing applications.*
Callnote, the leading Skype Call Recorder in its category, is going strong despite Skype App Directory closing. Kanda Software, the developer of Callnote is planning to continue introducing new features to its users that will enhance their Skype experience by adding capability to record, share and edit video and audio calls.
Mr. Karpovsky, CEO of Kanda Software, developer of Callnote app for Skype says: “Skype decision to kill App Store was unexpected for us. It was a great resource for Skype users to find everything they need in one place. From now on, developers will have to find alternative ways to reach potential users.”
With over 300,000 downloads to-date, Callnote audio and video recording app for Skype is the top downloaded application in its category. Although, users will no longer be able to download Callnote through Skype App Directory, they will be able to download the application on Kandasoft.com website or CNET Download.com.
Several versions of Callnote are available right now. Callnote Premium offers capability to record audio and video calls, save them to Evernote or Dropbox, and share them via Facebook and Youtube. Callnote Pro adds additional capabilities of editing, recording video in HD as well as Facebook video recording support. By the end of the year, Kanda also plans to introduce Hangouts and Viber call recording capabilities. Callnote Pro is available for download on Kanda’s website for $19.95.
“We are also currently working hard around API termination to be able to provide seamless transition and same great features that Callnote currently offers to its users”, said Mr. Karpovsky.
