Kicking Coaches across the Country Use National Camp Series (NCS) Kicking Index (KIX) Player Rating System to Rate High School Kicking Specialists in 2013
San Diego, CA (PRWEB) October 23, 2013 -- Kicking coaches across the country are using the National Camp Series (NCS) Kicking IndeX (KIX) System to rate high school kickers at NCS evaluation events in 2013 according to NCS Founder and retired NFL kicker Michael Husted.
Husted, who is a kicking coach in San Diego, CA, says over 60 NCS evaluation events were held across the country this summer using the KIX System.
"2013 has shaped up to be the best year yet for the National Camp Series and the Kicking IndeX (KIX) Player Rating System,” says Husted. “This summer, kicking coaches across the country used the KIX System at NCS evaluation events to rate high school kicking specialists who are preparing for high school and college football."
"This Kicking Index is the 'Moneyball' for the kickers, punters and long snappers," he says.
Kicking coach Husted says KIX was designed to help both the kicking specialists and coaches.
“After a strong 2012 and 2013 season, we are now positioned extremely well to leverage analytics to showcase our athletes, and to provide ‘objective high school kicking specialist’s statistics' to college and university coaches,” he says.

Husted says he has been has been working extensively with a prominent Physics professor in 2013 to enhance the Kicking Index and is very pleased with the results.
"We feel great about the direction that we are headed with our Kicking Index. We are nearly complete,” he says. “This intellectual property will do for the kicking game what Billy Bean of the Oakland Athletics did for baseball with Moneyball. Many colleges are limited with scholarships, especially at the smaller divisions. The ability to find the best talent at an affordable price is critical to their success."
Husted says that by utilizing its Kicking IndeX (KIX) Player Rating System, NCS provides an objective evaluation platform for student-athletes who want to showcase their capabilities to colleges and universities for recruiting purposes.
By sorting through over seven years of historical event data, the KIX system determines a kicker’s rankings by cross-referencing player data to determine how the athletes stack up against others, both presently and historically.
"The NCS levels the playing field for those who don't want to get caught up in all of the 'politics' that occurs in the kicking industry,” says Husted. “If you can kick, punt or snap, the NCS KIX system will let a young kicking specialist’s skills speak for themselves. No excuses. No explanations."
IN SUMMARY:
• The NCS has been working extensively with a prominent Physics professor to enhance its Kicking Index.
• This Kicking Index is the "Moneyball" for the kickers, punters and long snappers.
• The NCS is the only camp that objectively rates players using over eight years of data, taking weather conditions into account so that each event, regardless of location and weather will be adjusted to represent kicking in a dome.
