BlueStacks and Big Fish to Drive Mobile Monetization on One Billion PCs and Macs
Kiev, Ukraine (PRWEB) October 23, 2013 -- At his keynote at the Casual Connect conference in Kiev today, Big Fish CEO Paul Thelen announced a partnership with San Jose-based BlueStacks that will add the company’s 80 million endpoints to the BlueStacks Network. The BlueStacks Network spans across Mobile, PC and TVs with Fonelink, App Player and Gamepop and includes distribution via partners like Qualcomm, Lenovo, Asus, MSI, AMD, and Intel. It’s 100M+ strong today. The integration will enable Android developers to monetize apps within Big Fish’s popular almost 4000-strong platform of PC-based games. Over two billion games have been downloaded since the company launched in 2002.
“This throws open the doors of Big Fish's PC and Mac app store to mobile developers all over the world. It means extra distribution and monetization with no development work,” said Big Fish CEO Paul Thelen. “Mobile now accounts for about half our revenue and many of our titles are being built only for mobile. Bringing the industry's best mobile IP to our massive PC install-base that is hungry for new types of games, especially in the new free-to-play segment, makes a ton of sense. BlueStacks, started in 2009, gets two million unique visitors to its site per month and counts over 1.2 million Facebook fans. This is one of the largest expansions of the BlueStacks platform to date. “Our Network has been growing faster than we ever imagined. Big Fish, with its reach and high-monetizing user base, is an awesome addition,” said BlueStacks CEO, Rosen Sharma. “Now, any developer who integrates with Big Fish will also be able to leverage the whole of the BlueStacks Network. BlueStacks has raised 13M in funding from Andreessen-Horowitz, Redpoint, Ignition Partners, Radar Partners, Qualcomm, Intel, AMD and others. The company recently announced its GamePop product, which will add Android gaming on TVs to the BlueStacks Network.
