October marks the beginning of the second year for the woman-owned app development company GoGekko.

Since its founding in October 2012 Gogekko, a woman-owned German/ American app development company has done a lot to make its mark in the app development world. Their first app, iGab is a voice messenger app, which combines the users own and creative avatars that show emotion. iGab which is listed in the social networking category in iTunes, at one point reached the third place rank in Germany and has been sold in 14 different countries.

Gogekko, as a start-up, has been active in trying to build up recognition using both local and international partners. iGab, using its cooperation with Mobile Software AG, has shown how it offers not only b2c solutions, but b2c as well. The integration of a Mobile Software’s “talking” logo Dr Mobile, shows the possibilities of the app and the creativity of the developers.

A further win for GoGekko has been the local attention given to iGab. Thanks to the tireless efforts of the one German Co-founder in the team, Claudia Neumann, iGab has been invited to present at numerous events. “The local response to iGab in the last six months has been amazing. Getting the support of places like Beta House, Deutsche Kreativegesselschaft, Gadget Night and the Start-up night in Berlin have gone a long way towards getting a foothold in Germany,” stated Ms. Neumann.

“We are also very proud of being able to get so many cooperation partners and sponsors in such a short period of time. Without the work of NEURONprocessing, iGab wouldn’t be what it is to today, but there are many others who have given us invaluable support,” stated GoGekko Co-founder Kathryn Hagedorn. Yvonne Stein The Art of Grafik and Absolut Digital, just to name a few. Going forward GoGekko plans to continue working together with this creative network.
