It is important for businesses and organisations holding goods of high value or large sums of money to have sufficient security systems in place in order to protect the premises.

The BBC reports on October 17 in the article titled ‘Car CCTV Released in Aberdeenshire ATM Thefts Probe’ that police have released the image of a car they wish to identify after a number of alleged thefts from cash machines in Aberdeenshire. The alleged thefts, which occurred in Bieldside and New Deer, are being investigated by police, who are also investigating alleged attempted thefts from machines in Oldmeldrum and Inverurie.

According to the BBC, the image features a dark coloured Audi car which was reportedly seen in the area of the incidents which allegedly occurred in Oldmeldrum, Bieldside and Inverurie.

Speaking of the vehicle, Detective Sergeant David Howieson told the BBC that:

“We are keen to identify the occupants.”

He continued that:

“I would urge members of the public to view the images we have released and to contact police if they can identify the vehicle or if they have seen a similar vehicle in suspicious circumstances, particularly in the vicinity of ATM machines.”

AlertSystems, who are experts in commercial security systems, closely follow industry news and were interested in the recent release of the CCTV image. A spokesperson for the company offered their thoughts:

“It is important for businesses and organisations holding goods of high value or large sums of money to have sufficient security systems in place in order to protect the premises. In this reported case, police were able to use CCTV to determine a vehicle they wished to trace.

A CCTV security system installed in your business can be of vital importance in such incidences and high quality CCTV systems which are designed to identify vehicles can be ideal in businesses which need to monitor traffic entering their premises. Vehicle Number Plate Recognition systems can capture images of number plates, whist being ideal for businesses needing to manage parking or detect unknown vehicles onsite.”
