VCI-Group Creates Online Forum for “All Things Collaboration and Videoconferencing”.
Minneapolis, Minnesota (PRWEB) October 23, 2013 -- VCI-Group today announced an online interactive forum for collaboration and videoconferencing users around the world; a forum that will be monitored and supported by the users and members of VCI-Group worldwide.
The new VCI-Group Forum (vcigforum.com) is much more than just a site for troubleshooting and “how to” guidelines said David Maldow, VCI-Group Advisory Board member, and analyst with Telepresence Options.
"The internet already hosts a number of resources for technical troubleshooting”, he continued. “Visual collaboration technology users don't need another forum to ask which port to open, or which protocol to use. Instead, we have created a place for collaboration and videoconferencing users, as a community, to help influence the future direction of visual collaboration technology and services to better meet their needs. That is the unique goal and focus of the new VCI-Group Forum, to encourage users and vendors to work together and address the hurdles and issues still holding back the ubiquitous adoption of visual collaboration."
J D Vaughn, Co-Founder and Chief Catalyst for Sage Research, Consulting and Recruiting, and Chairman of the VCI-Group Advisory Board added; “It is one thing for vendors or vendor dominated groups to tell us new technologies work well, or that the newest offering from a large manufacturer is the greatest thing since sliced bread. It is quite another thing when our user community is in agreement regarding a new offering or announcement about interoperability. And while we encourage developers and manufacturers like Microsoft, Cisco, Polycom, Vidyo and other vendors to join the discussion, our users like to get the word from other users.”
The new VCI-Group Forum is intended for all types of users, not just the techies. Guests from novice to expert can join in the discussion within minutes by following a few simple steps.
Special benefits for VCI-Group members are planned for the near future, but the forums will remain open to all. VCI-Group is keeping the forum discussions open and free, to make it the first place for industry experts and users to go to learn about new developments, events, trends, and industry announcements.
“We want to encourage participation among the entire collaboration community,” David explained. “Regardless of what perks we may give to VCI-Group members, basic forum participation will always be completely free.”
